Halo: Reach Thread
I've been keeping up with the Halo:Reach project page, and let me just say it looks like it may be the best Halo ever. I mean it. They've brought in something new to the series, while keeping the essential gameplay solid. I have to say that Invasion looks like it will be a favorite of mine.
Any thoughts in particular?

Re: Halo: Reach Thread
Invasion is a 6 v 6 team game. One side is Elites, who are faster, have better shields, and more health (which regenerates for them), the other are Spartan-III's (whose health is restored similar to Halo: CE). The Elites attack and complete tiered objectives and such.
I kinda get the feeling you guys aren't as big into Halo these days. My fanboy is waking up as the beta approaches.
This covers most of the newest stuff.

Yeah. I've had less time gaming, and more time online available these days. Such as now, when I should be writing a research paper due tomorrow.
Re: Halo: Reach Thread
Yeah.. I'm not into Halo as much as I use to be. And you should probably get on that..
Re: Halo: Reach Thread
I am, to be fair, somewhat working on it.
I enjoy Modern Warfare 2, sure, but there are so many glitches and exploits it makes the bxr of Halo 2 look like a legitimate feature. Halo 2 was what got me into online gaming, Halo 3 is what got me into ANBU, and Halo: Reach is the final development by a studio I have loved since ONI. There is a certain pace to the gameplay that is unlike any other.

Beta goes live.
As I am not one of the many people who committed fraud in order to obtain a beta code, I will be playing Halo: Reach's beta tomorrow evening. That would probably be just after 12 or 1 pm GMT.
All you need to get in is the ODST campaign disc. I strongly encourage anyone to pick up the series once more and see where Bungie is taking it. Furthermore, participation in the beta increases the likelihood of catching glitches, bugs, and exploits. This important beta phase is what will hopefully prevent it from turning out like Modern Warfare 2. Yes, I went there.
If I don't have your Gamertag already, post in this thread if you are on for this thing.

My Halo Reach Beta Experience:
Game 1: OMG! This is so cool!! New weapons, new button layout, little perky thingys, it's so awesome!! OMG they are revolutionizing Halo!!
Game 2: Wow.. this got boring fast. Yeah, there's new stuff, but when it comes down to it, it's still Halo. Run around, shoot people.. yeah..
Game one was like shock & awe, and then game two is when the gamer/competitive part of you comes out, and you start realizing it's Halo. Same concept as the other ones, just a few changes.

I understand where you are coming from, but it hasn't gotten old for me. It feels like an improvement over Halo 3, and seeing as how I never really got tired of Halo 3, this is all good.
Most of my playtime was spent in Custom games, so I am particularly excited to see the new options, especially with the new loadouts thrown into the mix.
